    Julia Gottlieb and The Blue Ribbon Boys

    • SUMMARY:”Manhattan based jazz singer Julia Gottlieb teams up with the up-state eclectic 5-peice genre jumping Blue Ribbon Boys. Together the six of them meld 30’s and 40’s swing with their own quirky compositions. The result is essentially country swing jazz with a twist. They’re well-known for schlepping in a variety of acoustic and electric instruments and melding everything from country noir to hot club swing jazz.”

    FANCY Party Bike Parade

    • SUMMARY: “Come together in celebration of fun with you comrades. Pimp your bike, put on a costume, grab some stuff to bang on and your friends. (BYOB?) Extra costumes and special musical guests will be provided. We will be assembling on Mckibbin St and Bushwick Ave (outside of the artist lofts) at 8 PM sharp. we will then proceed to ride into Manhattan, ending up at an extra fun party in the lower east side.”

    • SUMMARY:”Flux Factory has invited artists from around the world to create their own response to Troy [Hurtubise]’s body of work and life’s ambition [and his quest to create a grizzly-proof suit]. Artists were asked to take on the age-old theme of human-versus-nature, the conflicting desire to understand the natural and to commune with it, and the need to control its cruelest aspects.”
      For the closing party on April 12th: “Please note, this party is not just any closing party. You can: 1) wear a bear suit, hat, or shirt (as well you should) 2) bring a bear or 3) bring your mom”
